Data
It’s the stuff that makes Culture Hack happen. Well strictly speaking you – the designers and developers – make Culture Hack happen, but there wouldn’t be much point in turning up if we hadn’t sourced some delicious data for you to work with.
We’ve been talking to cultural organisations based around Scotland to bring you as diverse a range of datasets as possible. This year we’ve been asking for content too. So there are not only letters & numbers, but also images, audio files and videos. It’s been donated by universities, festivals, national organisations, magazines, publishing houses, producing organisations and more.
Accessing the data
We’ve given each donor organisation its own page. Follow the links to the right to find out more about the organisation, the reasons they’re interested in being part of Culture Hack and any special licensing notes. We’ve tried to give you a bit of a steer to help you think about what you might do with each dataset. As ever, lateral thinking is encouraged & vigorously applauded.
We’ve made a slice of the data available to download via the website, you’ll be able to get your hands on the full datasets at Culture Hack.
Licensing
A quick note about licensing: unless otherwise specified, data has been released under this license. Content (images, video, audio, fiction) has been released under this license. Make sure you stick to the rules. Attribute wherever you can. Play nice.
