Perth & Kinross Cultural Services

We really like this dataset. It’s very detailed, and it comes with some super images. A great opportunity to look behind the scenes at the Perth Museum and Art Gallery’s collection.

What is Perth and Kinross Cultural Services?

Perth and Kinross Cultural Services run the Perth Museum and Art Gallery.

Perth Museum and Art Gallery recently reopened with some new exciting displays. We are one of the oldest museums in the UK with more than half a million objects. Our collections are large and varied. They have been officially designated as a Recognised Collection of National Significance to Scotland. They cover History, Natural History and Art and include local and foreign material.

Perth and Kinross Council Cultural Services also run The Fergusson Gallery and the Alyth Museum.

What are they interested in?

We’re keen to develop our digital presence but really we need to work with creative technology developers to grasp the potential for new uses. We envisage the experience of Culture Hack as research for future development.

In particular, we’re interested in making links between items in the Perth Museum and Art Gallery collection and other places, people and objects. How do we tell the stories held within our collections?
